The landscape is an extension of the simple, geometric forms expressed by the architect in the new Chapel and surrounding hardscapes. A grid of Red Oaks on both east and west sides of the building expresses the lines and angles of the surrounding walkways. In order to conceal the large banks of mechanical equipment, extensive pits were dug and retained by stone walls. A double row of shrubs were planted along the rim of the pits to further conceal the equipment. The ground was planted in Bermuda grass, keeping the transition from landscape to building clean and simple.
