An existing home was demolished and cleared to provide the site for a new home on this heavily wooded, sloping, creek-side lot. An existing bridge between the street and new home serves as the entrance and provides a peek into what is mostly a natural wooded habitat. The creek, which is dry in the summer, was cleaned and lined with large stone boulders obtained through excavations elsewhere on the site. The gravel drive wraps around the front entrance to the home and along the side of the garage. A simple irregular Pennsylvania stone walk runs straight along the front of the home’s bank of floor to ceiling windows. The back yard features a chopped block limestone retaining wall, which runs the entire width of the property to create a flat area for a limestone terrace and small lawn. A small lap pool and accompanying waterfall is tucked in neatly at the foot of the wall. Like the front yard, the rear of the property is heavily wooded and was left in its natural state.
